Prefer a rifle for fear of them crawling back to the hidey holes after being it with shot. Found that by skinning shortly after hitting the ground it makes for light work.... carry traditional gallon zip lock bags set them in the snow after cleaning. 3 lbs. #2 that day

Nice shot works well with black powder... Prefer to use a wad in the bore with Nice shot. Not to protect the bore but to keep the shot from wiping and deforming out the tube= better pattern. You will not be disappointed if you commit to using it.

Do U have square or round radius rifling? To get an accurate bore dimension... take a 36 or 40 cal. ball stand the rifle up clamped or held,tap the round ball into the muzzle with a wood mallet till it fills the bore.. You will have a short t shaped lead mold when finished. Measure the land and...

Just bore large holes under the butt plate and add all the weight you can.. You will be suprised when you move the balance point back 4" how the rifle feels and balances between your hands.. try that before cutting your good shooting bbl. Good luck, plz report back on out come...
