    Let's Discuss.......Mushrooms.

Shiitake spores are available on Amazon and other online retailers. The ones I’ve used are plug spores, short dowel plugs inoculated with spores. Drill holes in green oak logs, tap the plugs in, cover with a thin layer of paraffin wax over the hole, place in a very well shaded spot and wait...

    Another smoothbore whitetail

“Nice hunt just seems so strange to shoot a doe. Out here we only can shoot bucks, fork horn or better and some places have to be 3 points or better. Shooting a doe is like shooting a cow to me.” Juice Jaws: Before we had legal doe shooting in Michigan, I might have said the same thing. But...

    Another smoothbore whitetail

Congratulations! When I think back over 50+ seasons of whitetail hunting, I think I’ve shot more deer in the last 15 minutes of the season than I’ve ever killed on opening morning.

Thompson Center Muzzleloaders Pros & Cons

I’ve owned most of the TC models over the years, and all were good performers. Some were a bit stout and chunky in their stock dimensions for my taste, but they shot well and dependably. My current go-to rifle is a TC Pennsylvania Hunter round ball gun. Also have a .45 caliber Seneca and a 12...

So I found this box leaning against the garage...SMR Build

Thanks for posting these photos. I’m getting ready to order one of these and I’ve been wondering about Kibler’s standard grade maple. The wood on your rifle appears to have some nice figure to it.

    Favored Materials for Field Ramrods

I’ve had several of the TC “resin impregnated “ rods, and I’ve liked them. They do seem to be heavier than a plain wooden rod, but I like the fact that they look like wood but have the durability of Delrin and other non-traditional material. I’ve always been curious about how they were made.
