    Welcome from Union, WV!

    Polishing a chambered breech

Yes, on TC guns I will usually not only polish the inside but open it up so it is the same size as the bore. Several times I have found the breech plug so short compared to the threads in the barrel that there is a big gap between the two. That can get addressed at the same time.

    Spring making

There is a very good article in this month's Muzzle Blasts on this exact subject. Looks like you have a good handle on it!

Next question, capper for 1851 Navy

I think capnball makes them also. I suppose if you like his Youtube channel you could buy some from him.

Opinions on product for glass bedding a stock that was overcut by a newbie

I think it is the best bedding compound out there at the moment. But then again I am biased since I used to make it. Muzzleloader Builder's Supply sure sells a lot of it so somebody is using it on muzzleloaders.

Next question, capper for 1851 Navy

They used to make a revolver capper that had a longer nose on it. That worked well on a '51 but was too big to fit a Remington.

    1863 Pocket Remington Canted Barrel

Before you make a wrench, you might try clamping the barrel and see if you can turn the frame by hand. It may have never been fully tightened.

Paper patch roundball in a civil war musket?

Why not use cloth patches? My '61 shoots great with a. 570" ball and ticking patch. Or is this a speed competition where you need to use cartridges?

    1863 Pocket Remington Canted Barrel

Those usually have a lot of "mash" to them. I'm betting you could just tighten it. Or loosen and tighten a couple of times, but that may make it go too far.

4 bore English Blunderbuss is done.

Well that's the nicest blunderbuss I have ever seen. Impressive work!

Feinwerkbau History No. 1 patent breech?

You should be able to look down the barrel with a flashlight and see if it does or not. To clean them I use a patch wrapped around a much smaller than bore size bronze brush.

    Hopkins & Allen underhammer pistol.

Pretty much. The rifles also. They can all benefit from a good crown job or even the sandpaper on your thumb treatment. Let it load easier and not cut patches.

    Hopkins & Allen underhammer pistol.

I have one of those. It shoots best with light loads, 15gr or so. A .440" ball works fine, though my rifle version likes a .433" ball. You can try both to see what is better. Disassembly is simple - unhook the trigger guard from the hammer and remove the two screws. I am planning on reshaping...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Made a peep sight for my underhammer today. Much easier on the old eyes than the barrel sight was.

Dixie Tennessee Mountain Rifle and Patch lube

I have the 32 caliber version of that rifle. For range use, firing multiple shots, I just use a spit patch and can keep on shooting for quite a while. For hunting I'll use an oiled patch, but do have to swab the bore after just a couple of shots. If you don't like sucking on cloth, a mix of 1:7...

Parker Hale Alexander Henry Target Rifle - Help Wanted

For your Volunteer rifle with Henry rifling I would suggest seeing what bullets Buffalo Arms has available. Either .450" grease groove or. 443" slicks for paper patching. Also Brett Gibbons of Paper Cartridges swages an original Whitworth bullet that may work but is likely too long, I believe...
