    Stain for stock

    Having worked with wood, furniture and stocks, both, I need to state that a dye is preferable (sp?) to a stain for this sort of work. Stains tend to have larger particulates and when working with fine grained woods (IMHO) do not perform well. Look for wood dyes or use some Birchwood Casey...
