Best way to use spit patch?

I see your problem. You are fixated on sucking. You don't suck on the patch, you get it wet with spit. Don't even have to put it in yer mouth if you don't want to. You could put it in yer wifes mouth, I used to do that. Or you can spit on it if you cannot overcome your tendency to suck.

Best way to use spit patch?

I use a spit patch all the time. Easy to use, portable, easy to get to, I never run out. It's free, never leave it at home and it works better than anything else for me.

It's hard to beat the .45 cal

"So you have a .36 that really interests me" Yes, old antique. I have shot it. My comment on the 36 being obsolete was a *** at a thread on here.

It's hard to beat the .45 cal

I have a .45 I like a lot. It's very accurate. But I have a .58 that's even more accurate. I like it a lot. Wait, I have a bushel of .40s. I like them a lot and they are real accurate. I have a .36 but I don't shoot it because it's obsolete. I read that here on the forum. I have some .50s too...

    Brazilian Hardwood Rifle Stock?

I built a rifle with Bolivian Rosewood that was imported in 1957. While working it was a red color with black streaks running the length of the wood. I never found a finish that would harden on it so it's just bare polished wood now. After the first year it turned black. The color can be seen...

    Monthly Shooting Contests

We got some old junk cars I could draw targets on and email pictures. That would be fun. Five shots aint enough for me. Once I have got dressed and loaded the vehicle and gathered up all the stuff and finally get out there to shoot. A measly five shots don't hardly seem worth it. Up the...

    Monthly Shooting Contests

I partici[pated for a while. Not having a printer made it difficult. To much work for just five shots. To cold here in winter. Increase the amount of shots and use standard targets we can all get without a printer. Make Idaho warm in winter. :) Good luck!

    How useful is toeplate?

Practical, can be ornamental. Can be a structual support as on this forty five pound slug gun. The toe plate on this piece butts up to the boxlock action for support

    Barrel cleaning issue

Years ago I had a CVA rifle with a lumpy bore. It was a defective bore. Loading and cleaning, the ramrod went clunk clunk clunk from one end to the other. It was very accurate with PRB. I pulled the breech plug and took a look in there but it made me dizzy so I put it back together and shot the...

    Barrel cleaning issue

I shoot a 45 quite a bit. I also use about 50 grains FFF and PRB. Rifle will load and shoot accurate all day without swabbing between shots and without cleaning. I always use a spit patch. Really wet spit patch. It's cheap..... Rifle is cleaned and oiled immediately after a shooting session...

You need this and don't know it

I wore out three dehumidifiers in 22 years at my old place in Western Warshington. I don't need one here in Southern Idaho. The garden hose going outside worked good. I have experienced high humidity in Eastern South Dakota.

    Bore Butter?

You like the concept? What is the concept? Putting it in a tube/container? What is different or special about it?

    Problems with "Bore Butter"

I always wondered about that "seasoning" thing. Steel does have voids in the surface and I have a barrel that has some perty dramatic longitudinal cracks in the bore. Maybe the lube fills these voids and cracks? Is that seasoning? I think a lot of lube comes out with a good cleaning. I always...
