Need help with 2F or 3F in a .32 cal rifle

I use 15 grains of powder in my .32 caliber rifles with a spit patch. Plenty of power for small game and even varmints in range. I had a large supply of 2F for a while and I simply put a half dozen round balls in my horn so that the rolled around and ground some of the powder when carried and...

Hate to do it, but here goes.

Sam you are in my prayers and thoughts. I am on my third pacemaker and started having heart problems at 32. My father was a flying rancher and taught me to fly a plane. I will always remember what he told me when I was on a cross country flight with him over the West Texas desert and the...

Putting food on the table with primitive weapons

I used to make squirrel and dumplings or squirrel enchiladas and my father that would not eat squirrel wolfed it down. He said it was some of the best chicken he ever ate. I never felt the need to tell him otherwise.

Aiming with one or both eyes

Unless eye dominance is a problem you should always have both eyes open as you lose depth, speed and size perception when you close one eye.

    Powder grade

I had a supply of Elephant 2F so I just put a few .50 caliber lead balls in my horn and it ground the powder as I used it. You can also just take a wood block and crush larger granules smaller if need be. It all shot fine in my .32 and .40

He said it...

    Legal Question Black Powder

Due to age, eyes and an on going divorce I will be getting out of Black Powder shooting. Can I legally sell what powder I have on hand, trade it or give it away? Not wanting any troubles to come up later. Thanks,

    Texas Shooters

I need to ask some questions of some of you Texas guys. I am a mid sixties guy that has been out of black powder shooting for some time and will be moving away from the ranch. I need to know if there is a gun shop that takes consignments or trade days somewhere in Central Texas. I am in the...

    Finally found one

Unless you are hunting game larger than a cottontail my Cherokee shoots great with 15 grains of FFFg a .310 ball and thin pillow ticking. If I am hunting turkey, or predators I double the load. I have also shot several feral hogs with the 30 grain load.
