    wooden cannon again

Yeah. It was a reality. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

    Kibler Pistol?

My understanding is that they were for shooting the bear after the dogs treed it. A longer sight radius for a more accurate shot without the need to carry a rifle while chasing dogs through the woods.

    India Barrel Failure

It's been said before, but it bears repeating. These same manufacturers make the same guns for domestic use. Touch holes drilled and all. But to export a working muzzleloader doubles the cost, more or less. So they export the sane guns they make for actual domestic use as working muzzleloaders...

I am an idiot. Frustrated to the point of wanting to quit.

You're asking a lot if you expect even half the posters here to notice something like that.

Looks like we found the previous owner/artist!

You don't necessarily have to make a bag that needs to be turned.

    Eye injuries from flintlock?

I worry more about cap fragments from a percussion gun. But I'm also a lefty, so it is probably a bigger issue for me.

    India Barrel Failure

They are sold domestically as fully functional muzzleloaders, if I recall correctly. It's only when they are sold for export that they leave the touch hole undrilled.

Anyone get a Pietta G&G Clone from this most recent batch?

Mine didn't have any tarnish or anything like that, but I haven't disassembled it yet. The action does feel a bit gritty, though. I'm OK with the grips, as I plan to eventually modify them to have the correct angle.

Bow and arrow verses Flint Guns

While I don't disagree with your premise, I think you might have your numbers wrong. I'm not aware of any serious historians making the claim that European diseases killed over 99.6% of the native population, however, if you have any reliable citations I am certainly interested in reading them...

Anyone get a Pietta G&G Clone from this most recent batch?

Midway had them listed at $250 two weeks or so ago when I ordered the one I posted upthread. They also have the .44 version for those who were wondering if they are still made. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1016348313?pid=329036

    Vinagroon Got Nasty

I use hand warmers, as it is just iron. Dump the hand warmer in a jar of vinegar and it will dissolve within a couple of days. Pour it into a shallow pan and dunk the leather into it, rubbing it in a bit. It turns black within a minute or so as long as the solution can penetrate the leather (no...

Anyone get a Pietta G&G Clone from this most recent batch?

I got one last week, but it has been sitting in the safe and I really didn't look all that closely at it. Ill check when I get home.
