    Traditions .32 cal. crockett rifle

    I wished they'd make it 36 cal, I'd already have one. It's just me, but I don't want a 32 cal.

    Pedersoli Tryon

Thanks Richard. TOW confirmed the 1/4-28 so I have a few on order.

    Pedersoli Tryon

thanks fyrstyk. Richard, I don't think I would have bought a Tryon on a bet before seeing one in person and see it fit and finish. Nice workmanship. It HAS kinda grown on me! What size nipple does it take? I haven't seen a specific application/chart for it. I think it's a 1/4-28. Looked...

    Pedersoli Tryon

Fyrstyk, I'm gonna have to try some .495 with thick patch as my loads are fairly easy to ram home. Kansas Vol. I think mine was a wall hanger itself. I don't really think it had ever been shot. The lands are still sharp. Hope you shoot it soon.

    Pedersoli Tryon

I'm believing that. Finally shot it and all the patches had what looked to be land cuts. I don't believe it had been shot.

    Pedersoli Tryon

Thanks Zonie. Some one had the set trigger adjustment screw all the way in. Kinda worried about that. But, being a sorta kinda blackpowder gunsmith/mechanic, I wasn't too worried about it. Got home and turned the screw out a couple or 5 turns, trigger worked just fine. Been looking around...

    Pedersoli Tryon

Anybody ever shoot/own one? I just stumbled upon a Tryon Delux Target 50 cal. Nice shape; only muzzleloader I've seen around these parts that someone has taken care of. I mean the bore is shiny. A few dinks on the stock, nothing real bad. Got for $500 out the door. Not really a Tryon fan...

    brass corrosion/tarnish?

I have a friend of mine, says he's turned down a couple of TC's because of the brass hardware. He saw mine, I never polished it. It was the bronze/dull brass and he changed his tune. Thought it looked pretty good. He didn't think about not keeping the brass polished, just let it get that...

TC NE 54, Hawken 45 and GPR

I haven't had any problems from my original nipple on my GPR. Guess I got lucky.

Length of pull questions concerning Hawkens.

I used to have a TC Hawken. I liked it very well, but always suffered with the LOP, it was a bit too long for me. Thankful for the set triggers. some deviate stole it, along with a few other guns. Now I own a GPR and think the LOP is just right, if any of that helps.

    Does HC really matter?

Agree. I'm not a gun builder per se. I've built, or pieced together, a few for myself, so don't know if I should be in this topic. Sometimes I see completely misinterpreted creations at the hands of someone; the lock panels are raised from the main part of the rifle, like an afterthought and...

    double set trigger setup

Just a word of caution. I think they got the leverage for the front trigger pull backwards. The closer you get the sear engagement, the more leverage you'll have(easier pull) but will have more travel(creep) so a balancing act there. Unless, I have their forward and reverse misunderstood.

    double set trigger setup

Don't really need the copy of TOW catalog. There is an online pdf file for it. Google set trigger adjustment or page_352.pdf Link

    double set trigger setup

On a DSDT trigger, when setting the triggers, the front trigger has to move up marginally. Also, the lower the poundage or more sensitive, the higher the trigger bar will be. You will have to lower the front trigger some, either shim or file. You will have just a hair of slack for using the...

    Annual debate

Just think how our forefathers would feel about our Constitution and laws today and any verbage they used being misconstrued. I'm a proponent of laws written having "intent" attached to them. The "intent" being a determining factor on any changes.
