Mark Wheland Fowler on the way!!!

When will it be in Vermont? It needs to be frozen and soaked, to give it a look no craftman can give, only God.

    flinter hunt

I agree 100%. The kill is great, but hunting is about so much more. Nature, wildlife, clean air, but he best part has to be the stories and the friends you share it all with. Lost one of my best friends and greatest hunting buddies 5 years ago. His dad, uncles and cousins and I still hunt...

    flinter hunt

Went for my first Flint-lock hunt a few weeks ago, with "Doc Rogers." Didn't see anything, terrible ice, frigid cold, priceless!! The "doc" had just flown in from Korea. Picked him up at the end of an ice storm and hunted for two days and 24 minutes(got in at the last minute the first night)...

Talk to a Scottish Highland breeder (I just started myself). We are encouraged to leave the horns on for protection and the breed standard. Just a thought hope it helps.

Well I bought a flint-lock at an auction the other day so I hope to put it to use this winter. Sure I won't be the best shot, but I will have fun if I make it down there.

    bi-athlon

I think, I will check it out. Is there usually a "traders row" at these events. Always on the look out for a nice flinter

    bi-athlon

I haven't been to a bi-athlon yet, but I did go to your site awhile ago. The only thing I have ever seen on them was a short thing VT public tv did on it. Looked like something cool for my friend "Doc Rogers" and I to try. I will have to go this winter ( give me a reason to look forward to...

I will have to do that. Saw a PBS show on it looked like it would be a lot of fun.

    bi-athlon

Does anyone here go to primative bi-athlons (mainly in Vermont)? I am totally new to MLing and would start with percussion and hopefully talk my wife into a nice long flinter. Is it all for fun or is there a lot of hardcore competition? Both are fine just wondering before we give it a try.

    My first Flintlock arrived!!!

I was there (though I missed the first 2 rounds) it was very cool. Unbelieveable how well balanced it was in the hand, since it is just short of a mile long. Learned cleaning it requires high ceilings ( 44 inch barrel and 48 inch ram, plus stock!!) It was a blast, as well as the rest of the...
