    refinishing stock without removing furniture?

I bought a flintlock from a friend of mine. Once it was a nice custom rifle with very nice figured wood. However heavy hunting took it's toll on the wood. Has a 3 inch lengh wise crack in the fore stock starting approx 1inch before the trigger guard towards entry timble and a lot of rub marks...

45 cal smoothbore good for hunting?

Vielen Dank! I have a good feeling about the 45 ball. But what kind of shot size would you recomend for small game if you could carry just one size. I am not considering modern game laws and rules - I think in 1700 most people would have shot "sitting" game if possible ... I in fact "hunted"...

45 cal smoothbore good for hunting?

Just picked up an old smoothbore flintlock approx 45 cal. I am asking myself if it would be usefull for small game with shot ? Could it also be used with a ball for deer in a pinch ( if it would be legal)

    Looking for inexpensive sleeves

Yes, they are ! Inow however almost lean to the idea to buy damascus tubes - seems to be cheaper than sleeves and make a new set of barrels.

    Getting Started

I fully agree! Just bought a GPR kit as a "truck" gun. Even though when building it I was kind of disapointed of the inletting and some other things, it worked out well and it is truly a shooter! Best of all, I am not so worried about it as I would be of a more expencive one. They are great...

    Looking for inexpensive sleeves

I am looking for a full lenght steel tube ( with full choke) which can be used to line a shotgun barrel to make them shootable again. Mostly you go down on caliber e.g. 12 ga to 16. drill the barrel out and solder in. Restored a few high end guns this way but fixing a $ 150 gun with 800 $...

    Looking for inexpensive sleeves

I am looking for inexpensive sleeves in 12 and 16 ga to sleeve some double barrel shotguns. Used some european ones with great success so far but they are just to expencive @ $ 400 a piece to fix a "cheap" gun....

    Another glass bedding question

I think epoxy is a great material and I even discussed with a friend of mine who is into benchrest shooting glueing barrels and actions in - and yes , epoxy bedding and glueing works - however, I will also never forget the words of my ex - boss and mentor ( and master gun smith in Ferlach) ...
