    Copper Wire for Vent Pick?

Vent pick: Not HC but I purchased a set of welding cleaning needles (picks) at a tool rental. The set comes in a rectangular metal box and has a number of wires, in various sizes from very fine to fine to medium diameter. It is easy to disconnect them all from the box and then make a ring out...

Traditions, Cash, T/C, Pedersoli or ?

Calgunner, Where do you live? In the Bay Area we shoot once a month on the second Sunday (rain or shine) at a local range. Sometimes it is a good idea to go to a local muzzle shoot and see what others are using; also to ask advice. bronsht

    lock

Greetings! Came upon a 45 cal used goodie. Flintlock, small siler, Sharon barrel. The lock has "L. Calhoun" engraved on it. Anyone know anything about this? I'm guessing the rifle is 20 to 30 years old. bronsht

    New member from Northern Calif....

Welcome to the show. If you be near the Bay Area shoot me a holler. We shoot at Chabot near Castro Valley the second Sunday of every month, rain or shine. We have a 50 yard range all to ourselves with steel targets. bronsht

    Need info on Walker reassembly

Well, my mainspring broke and I got a replacement. I followed the distributors good advice of tying the spring to a compressed condition but used #12 gauge electrical wire (with insulation) instead of twine. I could not get the spring back in but I have weak hands and no mechanical abilities...

    .40 caliber ramrod

Actually I do not know what size the ramrod tips are. I guess I'll find out next year when I get the rifle. That is the easiest way to be sure. I shoot at a range once a month at a small standing table so I can lay the rod on the table even if it is too thick. bronsht

    .40 caliber ramrod

Recommendation taken! I've got months to wait for the rifle so I will place a new order for the 3/8 rod. I assume the jag and ball puller will fit the larger rod. I'll have to order a larger muzzle protector to go with the larger rod. Guess I'll have an extra 5/16 rod on hand for...

    .40 caliber ramrod

Uh oh! Got ahead of myself and last night ordered 5/16 rod and jag (and other parts) from TOTW. Well, I can always order a 3/8 rod once I receive the rifle. I just wanted to have everything on hand in advance. Thank you for the information. bronsht

    .40 caliber ramrod

Mr. K., Thank you. I figured 5/16 would be the surer bet. The protector is of course de rigueur. I just want to have the rod/ball puller/worm/jag ready to go even though I won't see the tvm rifle for 4 to 6 months. bronsht

    .40 caliber ramrod

Dear Folks, My first post (been lurking for a long time-every day). Have a .40 caliber flintlock on the way. Do I use a 3/8" ramrod or a 5/16"? I know the rifle will come with a ramrod but I always make my own rod for range use. Thank you very much in advance. bronsht
