Hello all,

I just found this forum while doing some research on black powder firearms. I have a couple of BP rifles (TC and a Traditions Hawkens) and a BP pistol (Traditions Trapper).

So far I have only taken the TC out to the range once and that was a few years ago....

I am looking forward to learning the ropes from you all!!!!

Mick

Welcome to the MLF Mick! Glad you found us and you will find there are lots of friendly knowlegable folks here on the site.

welcome Mick-

There are more than a few of us here from the good parts of California

Warning...the bug gets to ya, and the next thing you know you're surrounded by traditional flintlocks, snaphaunces, wheel-locks and handgonnes! You just keep stepping farther and farther back in time! :rotf:

Welcome to the show. If you be near the Bay Area shoot me a holler. We shoot at Chabot near Castro Valley the second Sunday of every month, rain or shine. We have a 50 yard range all to ourselves with steel targets. bronsht

Hey bronsht,

Thanks,

Mick

Welcome Mick, I live in Utah at present but I'm from Ukiah. If your in the wine country you can't be far from there. Ukiah Gun club has a nice range and a black powder group there shoots once a month. Check their website.

Welcome. Check out the Yolo Gun Club in Yolo County. I think it is over in Davis, not far. Also look at the Martinez Gun Club. Martinez is just south of you a few miles.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks!

I have been to the Chabot range a few times, but it has been many years. It looks like there are few other ranges I need to check out.

Now that I am retired, I can spend a little more time with my BP guns out on the range. I have always wanted to add a cannon or two to my collection...they look like a lot of fun... !
