Just graduated from "Them what will, to them what have"

East of Richmond, Utah in the mouth of a canyon whose name I do not recall. Just a rough little un-staffed range, but with a good layout. The only thing I would improve is the cleanliness. Folks seem to pack it in, but neglect to pack it out. :td:

Just graduated from "Them what will, to them what have"

As it says in the title, I have graduated! It seemed like such a momentous occasion (if only in my own mind). I was having a nice little morning shoot at the best little range in the canyon when I became only slightly distracted. I know that most of you could just fill in the story from here...

    Black is the best!!!!

I shoot Goex FFG and a patched roundball. When I first switched to GOEX I too found the fouling to be, perhaps drier and, stiffer to push through. As I experimented with lubes, I found one that worked extremely well and keeps the fouling at bay; no need for much swabbing, if any. Thank you...

Then again if it draws a few comments, and constructive criticism is received well, then...

    Patch Lube

yeah, just follow the instructions in the articles section. It is fairly simple and the stuff seems to work as advertised. I just got done trying it out and came away with good accuracy and no particular need to swab between shots. The fouling was either much softer, or was more self-cleaning...

    hammer to nipple alignment

I have this lyman gpp and I think the hammer is not resting well on the top of the nipple (the heel of the cup rests on the rear of the nipple leaving the toe slightly above). It seems to touch off the caps well enough, but it seems that this may lead to abnormal mushrooming of the nipples as...

    My story..

Great story, it made me want to go grab my rifle, bag and horn and head out . Seriously though, there is a wonderful draw to this hobby that speaks to something deep inside me like nothing else. It is just so cool to be surrounded with other like minds. Keep making smoke!

    Fouling

Hey there's a fresh wrinkle to the "blowing down the barrel" argument. I'm laughing just imagining this. javascript:void(0)

    Boise ID. I just arove!

Hi, I just found the forum. I live in Boise, Idaho. I just built a Lyman Great Plains rifle. It was a year-long process.........Yeah, don't ask unless you really want a laugh. I love this rifle, I just wish I had had this forum while I was building. Anyway, nice to meet you all.
