    .32 buckshot size/patch?

Greetings Yes....good stuff, I ordered some Hornady #1, thinking to seal the charge/lands with the patch thickness/lube, hoping not to distort the ball for balance, spin, all that good stuff. My manual advises 20-35gr. max. so I'm hanging at twenty, figure I'll go thru all the patch/ball combos...

    Fouling Scraper?

Hello, OK, now I'm wondering if I need a scraper for a .32 cal with a hooked snail??(Tradition,T/C) type breech. Not knowing a patent breech, other than the connected tang round kind of TOW, I've never seen the inside of one to know which is flat, round or otherwise. The scrapers offered are all...

    .32 buckshot size/patch?

Wow, I love this forum, what a wealth of information. I did forget to mention I wasn't interested in casting, too much work for balls that will be better than I can shoot. But, the input's great for those tempted to go that way. When getting back into this, a friend from the 70's when I shot...

    .32 buckshot size/patch?

Paul, P.S. What is oburate/upset the lead ball? I thought is just left the barrel with a little spin? Also, I'm lubing with mass quanities of good old spittle, I could try crisco or canola oil spray on my ticking. And, I'm thinking of a 32 smoothie kit this winter, definitely #1 buck w/patch...

    .32 buckshot size/patch?

Thanks Guys, A friend is giving me some Hornady.310 cast(recommended load)and some .320(0) to try. I have blue ticking, as our WM doesn't have red, but you can see daylight so it's pretty light and may work with those balls. He also gave me some old heavy blue and I'm going to order up some...

    .32 buckshot size/patch?

Howdy, Anyone use buckshot in their .32 squirrel? What size/patch combo is accurate and doesn't lead the barrel or destroy patches? Thnaks, Dave :)

    Patch thickness...?

Thanks, I'll work on it..... :hmm:

    Patch thickness...?

My 32 cal load chart calls for .310 RB with .012-.015 patches. I would like to use Hornady #0 buck at .320 dia.(bore), what patch should I use to make up the grooves? Can RB be paper patched, I could go smaller w/#1 (.300)? Thanks :)

    Traditions Muzzleloaders

Just got my Traditions "Crockett" yesterday from Midsouth. Nice workmanship, fit and finish is great for the money, lock/trigger is crisp, hammer fits nipple evenly, I don't see any problems. If it shoots as good as it looks, and good shooters from PFML say it will, I'll be tackin' targets....if...

    Semi-custom rifle?

PB, I posted a while back under "what to get", as I'm starting back in BP after a hiatus. I'm in the same boat, great guns at TVM, TOW and others around 1K or less. Decided to go in roundball's direction with a T/C NE platform, then find a 32 cal smoothie barrel for shot and buckshot balls to...

    Finished metal parts

May start my first kit, metal skills aren't good, any suppliers selling already white/polished steel parts? How are locks/triggers finished? Think I'm only talking BP, TG, & SP for gun. Barrels are white from manufacturers? Do they need extensive finish? I'm leaving white to patina with other...

Oh, what to get, what to get....??

Hi all, did some research and started dialing in a vision: http://www.trackofthewolf.com/(S(mhac2s45ajpqpyvh34zphbzs))/categories/partDetail.aspx?catId=12&subId=81&styleId=284&partNum=AAG-703]Link[/url] If this photo does'nt link, it's TOW, flintlocks-AAG-703, if interested. Ideally, it...

Oh, what to get, what to get....??

If you can get a 28 Gauge smoothbore, BUILT on a 28 gauge barrel- and not a 20 gauge barrel-- it is truly a sweet gun to shoot. No recoil, and very good patterns out to 25 yards. OK, Paul, being somewhat new to smoothies and not a gunbuilder, can you expand on how this works, are you saying...

Oh, what to get, what to get....??

Yezsir, the c-wood interchangable barrels are a big plus, even years later go from smoothie to rifle, many cal.offered. Their wilson has a butt like a warclub for recoil, understand it's very light & balanced. Think I'm set on a Co., Paul advised light load a 20,and have the versatility, good...

Oh, what to get, what to get....??

Some say wisdom comes with age, I just get nuttier, a bud is talking me into clays w/double 410, just for challenge, therefore the 28. I really don't know what I'll shoot more at this point.

Good point, those caywoods are versatile

Oh, what to get, what to get....??

Hummmm...yeah...didn't think of that. Not much of a cold season hunter, haven't been out in years, thought about varmints, just for live targets. Probably end up w/clays, paper plates, hee, hee. Probably better for resale if this doesn't pan out, some of my pastimes don't. Both those co.'s have...

Oh, what to get, what to get....??

Hi, All Getting back in after many moons. Looking at 28 gauge fowlers for crows/groundhogs/clays. Also low recoil. Considering Caywood vs.TVM for a lefty. Any views on comparative quality, weak vs. strong points. Cost is close, any others I'm overlooking to consider? Thanks, wkndman :)
