derbyshire arms brown bess .69 cal

As long as it makes the proofing allright i does not really matter If its made in India or on the moon. Derbyshires muskets are fine shooters, sure the finnish is not that of a pedersoli but neither is the cost. I am sure you will have lots of fun with it, I sure have with mine.

derbyshire arms brown bess .69 cal

Worth nothing for you who, like me planning on getting or have got an india made musket. The first musket i ordered actually blew up during proofing. As Derbyshire takes full responsibility this involved no extra cost for me, but a considerable delay. But with this in mind; DO NOT ever live...

derbyshire arms brown bess .69 cal

It is indeed made in India by a company named Hassandand Hemandas. Derbyshire arms will go over the musket, time the locks If needed and redo the finnish on the stock. Lastly they drill the touch hole and send them for proofing at the Birmingham proof house. They DO however make their own...

I went shooting for the first time today!

A little update; I went to the range again and this time i used more lube on the patches and wiped every other shot. This time the results were much more satisfying. I placed all shots within 8 inches with the odd one outside this radius. I shot 15 shots and 5 went outside the 8 inch radius, but...

Regarding patch lube, how much do you use? as i use it now my patches are barely damp with the stuff. Perhaps i use to little? Tried not to put on too much lube, afraid of wetting the powder...

I went shooting for the first time today!

I have measured the caliber again. it´s .73 and im using .688 lead bullets with .018 cotton patch. For lube im using hoppes no 9. Perhaps the bullets are a little small? i asked at the gunsmith who also provided the bullets. He said that it wasnt advisable to preasure a gun that old to much...

I went shooting for the first time today!

My gun isnt exactly new, its got a manufacturing stamp on the barrel and its dated 1843. But if you mean new to me then yes its new =) But anyway, new or not the bands dont really feel very tight, there is some rattle to them even when hot. Not like they are rattling by themselves but i can...
