Round ball extraction from my Lyman GP pistol.
I'm tired of looking for the patch downrange so I can reuse it anyway. I'll try a new one. :wink: Got it cleared by cleaning and putting some powder under the nipple numerous times. Not certain which attempt even cleared it so the powder must have been pretty damp. -

Appreciate it guys. I thought the breech plug looked permanent. That's what I stopped. I have pulled the nipple and cleaned it. I will do as you say and probe further to make sure ignition is getting all the way to the chamber. Thanks -

Lyman GPP pistol failed to fire first round yesterday. After ensuring the nipple was clear, I attempted to fire, wasting about 8 more caps. I removed the barrel but was unsure how to remove the breechplug. Instruction manual isn't clear. Rather than screw up the bluing while experimenting... -

A fixed small charger I can cut down would be fine. If anyone has a particular part number it would help. I am looking online and can't really figure out what I need to buy. Nothing that would work for a pistol seems to be available locally. The empty cartridge method would be good too, but... -

Absolutely! Exactly what I was pondering a few months ago. I ended up with a Traditions Pursuit. Thumbhole mossy oak stock, "nickel" coated barrel and a cheap scope for $229. Functions smooth and no misfires. Appearance wise, they look like a step up from the lowend CVAs to me. All I...- fenders
