    Investarms .50 gone crazy???

    I tried Pyrodex in the past and will never use it again. I only use Black Powder now with no problems, also seasoned my bore with Bore Butter. It shoots pretty clean for about 15 shots before I have to swab it out, swab patches are treated with Windex

    Dont know about collectable but I have seen them on GB for 400.00 and higher. I have a friend who has one that has been retired for over 15 years, its in the safe, when I see him next I will get the number for it.

    Antique 1841 competition 50 cal

    Very nice firearm, always did like the looks and builds of the old style Target rifles. Wish I had one like it. Have looked for E.S.Johnson on the net but nothing but inquires about him so far. Will look around some more.

    Kit Carson's Hawken Rifle

    You cant go wrong with kit from Don Stith, a little more work, yes but you will have a period correct rifle that will last,function great,shoot great and will be an eye catcher for years to come. Just my .02 worth here

    How about an ID?

    Thats a fine lookin rifle and with history to boot. I agree with the post about takin it apart carefully, inspect,record and take pics of any markings, lube it up well and if possible, have a gunsmith who is knowledgeable is BP firearms check it out.
