    Navy Arms Revolvers

I have a Navy Arms New Model Army with target sights. I bought it in 1982 and it has a Pietta logo on it. I have a newer production Pietta New Model Army from Traditions and it is larger than the older revolver.

Help with ID of Italian rifle

It's also in the 1982 Gun Digest Loading Manual by Sam Fadala as the Lyman Plains Rifle. My Cabela's Hawken by Investarms looks like this rifle, except the patch box is different. The Lyman Trade Rifle is also essentially the same rifle with no patch box and with primitive sights.

    New GPR

There was mention of locks on flintlocks having stamped engraving. I bought my left hand percussion .54 cal. GPR in 1998 and it has the stamped engraving but the lock does have some case coloring also. I have to admit that I also like the plain case colored lock a little better.

Identify the model of this Pedersoli?

I agree. It is a Cabela's Hawken by Investarms. I have a Cabela's Hawken left hand version that bought in the early 90's. I may be wrong about this but I think that Investarms made the Charles Daly Hawken also.

    GPR social

I have one I bought in 1999. It's a left hand round ball rifle in .54. I also have a left hand Cabela's Hawken by Investarms. It is more like the Lyman Trade rifle than the GPR.

    50 cal. Hawken

I have a Cabela's Hawken by Investarms which is pretty much the same as the Churchill. I have had it for about 30 years and it has been a very good rifle. It has a 29" barrel with 1 in 48 twist and is a very good shooter.

    swaged or shaved?

I was in a gun shop a while back and another customer mentioned to me that he could not keep the wads in place when shooting his pistol. He was putting the wad over the ball after the ball was seated. I explained the correct order (powder, wad, then ball) and a sales person in the store...

    Confused about Colts?

The entire production of the signature series Colts was done at Lou Imperato's factory but he was authorized by Colt to use the Colt name and distribute the guns as Colts. The may not have the same status on the collectors market as the second generation C & F models, just as the second...

    Confused about Colts?

I have seen a similar subject come up before on this and other forums. Colt did outsource the production on the Colt reissue of their black powder revolvers but that, in my opinion, makes them no less Colts. This was not a first for Colt. The production on the Colt Walker in the late 1840's was...

    .32 cap and ball

The buckshot I have is soft lead so there have been no problems with it. I have had it for quite a while and I don't remember the brand.

    .32 cap and ball

I have an ASM .31 cal Remington. I use 0 buckshot (.320 dia and about 144 pellets per pound)and it works just fine. I bought 50 pounds cheap enough to use for casting and to shoot in this little revolver. 00 buckshot size is .330 which is a little big. Buddy C

    F I E

Firearms Import and Export Corporation was based in Miami, Florida. They imported various firearms from different countries and distributed them using the full name of the company or the abbreviation FIE. As far as I know the company is no longer in business. Buddy

    Strongest Revolver

I have a Uberti Walker and I came up with a simple solution to the "Dropping Lever" problem. On the front of the loading lever spring there is a little "knob" that slips under the rear of the loading lever to hold it in place. I filed the upper portion if the "knob" flat so that it slips a...
