    How do you store your black powder?

    store your black powder? I'm just getting started and looking for the best way (short of building a bunker) to store a small amount of black powder (1 pound for pistols). Any inherent dangers, best type of container, humidity, static electricity, etc. Any help or assistance would be appreciated.

    Bear Grease

    In the middle of a cap and ball discussion, and specifically how to prevent chain fires, an old timer said he always put grease over the percussion caps after placement. Was he confusing this with greasing over the ball or is there sometihing to this? Still new and learning. Thanks in advance.

    Yes, it is a second generation Colt. It has the notch in the back strap along with 2 stock screws (one on each side). It does have 4 screws on the left side. There are no import marking of any kind on the revolver. On the left side it is marked "Colt Patent U.S." and "44 cal" on the trigger...
