    I am shooting my Kentucky flint lock(45cal) with a 6" barrel at a target 20' away with 15 grain of 3f and getting about a 4 inch group is that about what this gun should be shooting

    I have a 45cal pistol and a 45 cal cleaning jag what thickness of flannel do I need for cleaning patches I need to buy a new caliper I bought a harbor freight one and it read .01 and also 0 for the same patch that I know is .01 so it is useless

    fired it today starting with 10 grains then up to 15 , will try 20 next time was all over the place but need tp get used to the gun , never shot bp and the trigger is stiff 6" groups at 10 foot sucks but I just need practice was surprise at no recoil , great gun for a woman or smaller man ...

    yea .o1 added a extra zero gues I need to dig out the micrometer, I got no problem going into a fabric store or after being married over 30 years even a bra store just did not what the funny looks you get when you do something different in a store

    my local black powder store says he thinks it is a cva pistol but not 100% shore and he says I will probably use 20 grains of 3f I got everything I need to shoot it except a flask even got a nice leather bag to carry it in

    Im new to bp and just got a 45 cal with a 6 " barrel , I don't know the twist of the rifling yet I need to bring it to the gun store to check that would real bullets work any better than rb from what I read you don't have to clean the barrel between shoots with them and no patching needed...

    I will be buying the powder from the local (in Springfield,Or) black powder store will also get him to check if it really is a 45 cal and that it works properly I was hoping 15 20 grains would be good because thats a lot of shots per pound :thumbsup:

    I just got a Spanish made (don't know who made it) 45 cal flintlock pistol with a 6" barrel that I want to shoot at paper targets at 25 yard but Im new to black powder and don't know how much powder to load , I have been told everything from 15 to 50 grains does a shorter barrel mean to use...
