Danish Target Pistol, request info. on Maker

Thank you Enfield, could very well be the answer for this pistols travel history. As a fellow collector & former competitive shooter with original firearms the fine workmanship & rifling on European firearms makes them excel in accuracy & last for centuries in hands of good caretakers. Chuck

British Light Sea Service Dragoon project !

I've worked on a few of the India built muzzleloaders, maybe not 100% historically accurate but can be made into pretty nice guns with a little tweaking & tuning. Can't go wrong if you consider them as an inexpensive pre-assembled kit.

    flintlock purchased from friend.

THANK GOD THAT MUZZLELOADERS CAN BE SOLD IN MOST STATES WITHOUT ANTI-AMERICAN FEDERAL OR STATE RESTRICTIONS. Bottom line, it's up to us 'vintage' firearm owners to communicate with family members to make sure our valued possessions end up in the right hands. Unfortunately it's common for Items...

SOLD Rifled 12 ga ML barrel

The barrel inlet might be close on a pre-carved stock or kit, supplier might cut channel to fit your barrel. Consider going slow & doing the build yourself, of experienced builders on the forum that would happy to help you through any build issues. Just an old big bore shooter & builder...

SOLD Rifled 12 ga ML barrel

Dandy build idea Dusty Traveler, the twist would also be ideal for accurate patched round ball shooting as well. If I was younger, still building & able to hunt big game I would snap it up & make into a canoe length flint French Fusil. Consideration, maybe the barrel specs would work with the...

    anti-gun USPS

    Having once owning a Postal/USP & Fax shipping business I learned the importance of packing well & if the item is valuable ship by Priority to reduce handling & damage.     Percussion Firearm Safety & Hunting Tips;

Nothing wrong if hammer is close to tip of the nipple @ half ****, being too close just makes capping more difficult. If distance has changed it could be that the tip of your sear has has chipped off, If so, there will also be less distance to nipple when at full ****. Best if you can post a...

    Hopkins & Allen underhammer pistol.

Muzzle crown option. Crowning method thats worked well for me is wrap a slightly oversized lead ball with Emory cloth, then polish with a layer of fine steel wool. * to speed the crowning process up insert a double-ended drawer-pull screw into the ball so you can spin the ball with a powered...

Do you think that modern ML firearms have any investment value?

Opinions galore ! There would be no Muzzleloader Forum, worldwide rendezvous being held, shoots at Friendship or antique arms gun shows if Americans lost interest in the value of historical firearms. As with money markets & stocks there are always increases & decreases in values due to corrupt...

Offhand accuracy with flintlock pistols ?

No matter how long we have been shooting competition, bad days can happen due to fatigue, too much stimulant, etc. Often a break is all it takes but no downside to having an observer watch .

Offhand accuracy with flintlock pistols ?

Acquire a pistol that has all the right features for competition & fits you. Develop a load that produces ragged hole groups off of a good solid rest. Having an experienced competitive pistol shooter closely observe your shooting stance & impact on paper is best way to correct poor groups &...

Can a Flintlock pistol beat all the Caplock pistols to win the championship?

At 82 with several health issues I'm also too old to seriously compete anymore. In my younger days the Pedersoli Harpers Ferry flintlock pistol fit my hand well & won many matches after a few modifications. I turned a fast twist ,54 cal barrel to match dimensions of the .58 cal barrel & inlet a...
