    Out of the mainstream

I used an old 1940s lawn mower deck plate that was all beat up. Saved me some aging effort.

    Out of the mainstream

Banged my hammer off the door jamb of my blind trying to get out. Felt like I was in a Cheech & Chong movie having shot in a small converted ice shanty blind. I lost flint and lead backer in snow. I dont think ill ever shoot another buck from an enclosed blind like that. Or maybe I will, I'll...

    Out of the mainstream

This has really been a prolonged build that I've drug my feet on, finishing two other flintlock builds in between. I started it well over a year ago for an antelope hunt in Wy, I got it to the point of being accurate, and ran with it, no finish or dress up. Now in a crazy year its seen more of...

    T/C Hawken Restoration.

Took a very aggressive zip strip to remove the varnish. I use a 75/25 mix truoil and old linseed hand rubbed in.

    T/C Hawken Restoration.

I'm a builder so it's not really an issue, I have built enough longrifles to need to keep this one. Here is a Vincent I restored last year.

It does start with a K! Mystery solved. I'll grab 4 slotted screws this weekend at the hardware and turn and age them before listing.

    T/C Hawken Restoration.

You maybe right Bubba it could have been a kit as those where the screws in it when I started. As far as changing them I'll leave that to the near future next owner. These aren't really my style to start with as I've built several period correct Hawkens & Vincents.

    T/C Hawken Restoration.

This was a group of parts at my shop that's been kicking around for years. Prices for these seem to be going nuts online , I could tell thru the crackled varnish that it had a beautiful peice of wood, so I decided to restore it. The barrel had been spray painted black, the stocks varnish was...
