FOR SALE Defarbed 1863 Zouave Rifle

Truth hurts. Your turn and burn these rifles from auctions, sell them for a premium and don't bother to clean them up.

    Swiss Infanteriegewehr/feildstuzer mold avaliable

M71 mauser requires a soft lead paper patched slug. .439 patched to .446. Smooth sided or grooved, doesn't matter.

Do you shoot rifles in .446? I have 15 different rifles in 11mm.

    Swiss Infanteriegewehr/feildstuzer mold avaliable

I'll be taking 3 months off work here in beggining of the year. I'll have some cartridges made up to test and would love to share my findings. The rifling on my infanteriegewehr seems to be of constant depth and not moderately deep. About 1:36 twist.

I like how he did the head of the bullet. Some very generous grease grooves. Mine is closer to the orginal with the waist section. They come out at .401 and 289 grains. Very deep cavity.

    Swiss Infanteriegewehr/feildstuzer mold avaliable

That's fairly large but from what I've read, federal rifles ranged widely on bore diameter. What charge do you plan on using? 60g of 1.5f swiss got me in a good spot. Orginal podwer was about 1fg

    Swiss Infanteriegewehr/feildstuzer mold avaliable

I patch mine to .407 and they are a snug fit. It really nice to have a rifled musket in such a small caliber. 2 bullets are like casting one minie. The trajectory is also great. A 200 yard zero will only be about 9" high at 100.

Is that the one that is shot naked? If you ever want to try the paper patch one, let's do a bullet mold/ bullet swap.

    Swiss Infanteriegewehr/feildstuzer mold avaliable

If any one has been searching for a proper mold for a .40 caliber swiss feldstuzer, I've been able convince Old West bullet molds to cut a cherry. Mold is very good and a close copy of the Bulholzer. It will require a paper patch

Specific rifling depth for hollow base/flat base muzzloader bullets

Unfortunately they do t have a hollow base and would cost me another 175 to have a base plug made.

Specific rifling depth for hollow base/flat base muzzloader bullets

I ordered a mold from him and he demanded a ridiculous amount of money for it without even giving me a quote after making it. My lyman mold is just as good as his stuff

Specific rifling depth for hollow base/flat base muzzloader bullets

What rifle and load are you shooting exactly? That's good to hear your having good results. The Swiss feildstuzer and infanteriegewehrs when through 3 variations of bullet. A linen patched flat conical, PP compression and finally more or less a .399 minie style with paper patch.

Specific rifling depth for hollow base/flat base muzzloader bullets

Due to difficulty locating a mold maker who can make me a hollow base mold for my swiss feldstuzer, I'm wondering if using a flat base mold will be reasonable. The rifles groove depth is around 0.007 and mat or may not be progressive depth. The bulholzer bullet is a 289g hollow base paper...

Preparing a percussion rifle for hunting

Here in Western Washington, i have been plauged by "hang fires" during hunting season. Im hunting with the parker hale series of Enfield rifles. Ive gotten lucky with hang fires and still hitting a deer, but the last 2 years I've missed due to a delay in ignition. Before I leave my car, I make...
