Help me. I'm moving to Florida. My poor barrels!

Howdy! Californian here moving to Florida for work. My two muzzloaders need your help! They tend to rust if I don't oil them regularly here in California, and I'm seriously afraid for them in the Florida humidity! Can anyone recommend a good gun locker that'll fit a LGP rifle and a Traditions...

How many shots in a row without picking or wiping pan ?

I can go probably a good 20-30 with my LGPR. More like half that with my Traditions Deerhunter cheapo. But, I'm also in California. We don't do humidity.

Just bought my first flintlock. What do I need to take it out shooting, and what do I need to know to have a safe and enjoyable time.

That's how I got my start 2 years ago. Kind gentlemen teaching my dumb ass everything I know.

    How do you prime?

I was taught to prime using baby Pedersoli pistol flasks. Love them. Perfect size for my baby hands.

Nails popping out of stock on LGPR

Oh, thank you! What led me to start this thread was that after my last shoot, I noticed the last pin in the metal at the end was sticking halfway out. At the time, I thought it was a nail. I know different now. But I was concerned it was loose, because it came partially out while shooting and...

Nails popping out of stock on LGPR

Howdy, everyone! Apologies on the delay, and thank you all for your responses! Got myself a little cold, and remained at my girlfriend's for the duration the past few days. Finally got to my rifle today. Second apologies, but I have the barrel out, because she needs to be re-blue'd with some...

Well, that's really weird. Mine definitely has nails. Multiple, in fact. I'll take pics tomorrow when I'm home.

Nails popping out of stock on LGPR

Howdy, everyone! I'm noticing when shooting lately that the nails in the stock and brass metal furnishings are partly coming out on my Lyman after shooting. I bought the gun used, and it's probably at least 10 years old. I've tapped them back in, but is there any way to prevent this in the...

Why does the stone need a wrap?

Dumb question, but honestly curious. I've seen many without a wrap, and It works fine in my rifle when tested.

Should cock and bridle wiggle against lock plate after press fit?

Well, that explains why this cheap traditions deerhunter had a long and mushy trigger pull!

Should cock and bridle wiggle against lock plate after press fit?

Hahahaha thanks sir that end got me rolling over here 🤣🤣🤣 Will do! It's a cheap traditions lock, so that's not a big deal. I bought the gun to learn on. So, it'll just get more and more loose over time the more I take it apart? I'll try and not do that too much then 👍 I took it apart to learn...
