They do make one actually. I am just trying to do this as sort of a budget build to try one out more than anything. Can't really afford to drop almost $300 on just a lock right now lol.

Hi all. I have a CVA mountain rifle that I am building and wanted to convert it from percussion to flint. I am looking for the small lock to fit the CVA/Traditions mountain rifle like the one in this picture. Thanks

It could also be a Uberti Santa Fe Hawken. Those and the Armi San Marco made Hawken were both made almost exactly like this with the same trigger guards even.

Have now acquired a stock for my build. Now there wouldn't happen to be phone out there that would have one of the old style CVA 4 screw patchboxes is there? That's what this stock is inlet to fit.

As of right now what I do is use the tubing cap keepers on the percussion cap and roll a plug of my soft winter black powder lube that I make for my revolvers to put in the end of the barrel. Just wanting to see if anyone out there had a way other than mine that might work a little better. Have...

Hey everyone. New member here from Missouri. What does everyone use to weatherproof your caplock rifle for hunting in possibly inclement weather? Just curious as I currently have a method I use, but I am always looking for better ideas that would work better.
