    I measure the same way Cody does. On a tapered screw, I measure at the middle of the length of the screw.     Describe what kind of a ML Shooter you are

    I am a hunter at heart. Here in IL. it is either shotgun or muzzleloader. The muzzleloader is more accurate and lethal. I have always held to the one shot one kill concept anyway. Now I find I really enjoy working up a load, the smoke, the whole darn thing. Having a lot of fun!

    Cherry will darken naturally with exposure to the sun. Plenty of rubbing with tung oil will give you a spectacular finish.

    I use hot soapy water and plenty of elbow grease. It is working very well so far. I am new to the black powder game though, others may have better suggestions.

    There is a civil war museum in Franklin Tennessee. I recall seeing a large projectile lodged in the ankle bone of the recipient. That says something about velocity. There are a lot of pictures there of injuries. I think amputation was the most oft used skill in those days.
