Pietta Brotherhood of the Traveling 1858

I just saw this on the internet and found out one of my friends will be receiving it in august. He will be the first one in TN. to get it. He will post videos of shooting it and we will compare it to the colt army. I am really looking forward to this.

In real life Civil War what was the most ways a revolver was loaded?

Revolvers were loaded with paper cartridges during the civil war, but most likely not during battle. Calvery men often carried many revolvers into battle as many as 5 or 6 so they wouldn't have to reload.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I made paper cartridges for my 44 cap n ball pistols with cigarette paper, pyrodex 30 grain pellets , wonder wads and 451 lead balls. It was fast and easy. I will let you know how they work next week after shooting them.

    Help a new shooter out.

I use slingshot nipples and pyrodex 30 grain pellets and wads. Loads easy and clean. There was a good paper cartridge loading video on youtube using pyrodex pellets wads and round balls with cigerate papers.

    1858 Remington (which one)

I have several pietta 1858s and 1 uberti. The uberti is better quality but unless you are shooting weekly either one will do fine. My uberti is a sheriff model and like it for the lighter weight and ease in and out of a smaller holster. I wouldn't leave a load in any muzzle loader over night but...

Someone Talk Me Out of a Howdah

Unless you get an older pedersoli coach gun you will have to settle for a single trigger. I prefer 2 triggers one for each barrel.

Someone Talk Me Out of a Howdah

I have the pedersoli howdah in 20 20. With that smooth bore you can shoot a solid round ball or shotgun pellets. That gives me the most options. If you haven't held one in your hands do that before you buy. The howdah pistols are very nose heavy and unless you are very strong they will be...

Someone Talk Me Out of a Howdah

60 grains 2f and 1 oz of #6 I only shoot very close birds flushed by close working dogs. More than 60 grains is wasted out the barrel. #5 or #4 shot could be used also and might give you a little more range. With that 11 " barrel you should keep shots inside 25 yards. The birds I shot were...

Someone Talk Me Out of a Howdah

I have the pedersoli howdah and the butt stock to go with it. I have used it in cowboy action events and even hunted and taken pheasant with it. Pedersoli products are very well built. As a confederate calvary arm the are devastating at close range. Without the butt stock the pistol is very...
