    Shot the pa conicals today. About 25 or 30 of them. Tried powder loads of 60, 65, 75,80,90,,,2ff. With and without wads. This particular 1-66 barrel doesn't like them. Shot all over the map.     Pretty sure i found the culprit. I had a nipple that was enlarged with a #55 bit. I inadvertently installed it yesterday. It's headed for the trash bin.

    Today, several times the hammer flew back to halfcock when firing. Didn't do it all the time. 60/65 grains 3f shushu with roundball out of my 50 caliber traditions kentucky rifle. Caps are homemade and are a touch hot. Nipple is a hotshot. What normally causes this? Tks.

    I've went thru 4/500 so far this year and i missed July August and most of September. Mostly all homemade caps except for maybe 50 at the most cci's. I'll hit the range tomorrow with new sights and probably do 50/60 shots. Don't take long to burn thru supplies.

    I expect your correct. I was using orange stickers along with the orange sight. Never give it any thought about no contrast. Thanks, I'll fix that this week.
