Traditions Deerhunter Rifle or the Traditions Springfield Hawken. 50

I have the deerhunter in composite and it is fine. No regrets as my first (and only) muzzleloading rifle. My old eyes need those dayglow sights that come std. Great gun to learn with. Plenty of support and parts available. Nice and light. No quality issues to date. Around 80 rounds down...

    Colt Generations

I have not read enough to give a comprehensive answer but here goes: I think the short answer is yes. But...It is not that simple. Some say the early Gen 2 parts came from Italy and were finished in the USA. Others dispute that claim and say the parts were finished in Italy. It is an...

    Replacement grips for EMF Pietta

I bought the unfinished one from Taylors. Fits fine and much better than the plastic ones. Of course you need to sand and stain it. I bought 2 of them and it cost around 66 bucks total to ship them to me. good luck Wheelman.

WANTED Rifle barrel or parts rifle wanted

I have an older traditions percussion rifle made from a kit in .50 CL. Guessing 20 or more years old. Hook type. 28 inch. I have been working on the barrel as it was clogged with grease and a felt pad and some powder. I think the bullet was pulled but the rest was abandoned. I have almost...

SOLD Brand New 1860 Army .44/Reduced

I think the price is very fair. I just bought 2 guns off this forum that were listed fairly in my opinion. Paid the ask. The vintage guitar market has come to a standstill i have noticed. I know a well connected guy and i asked him to list some rare acoustic guitars in mint condition. No...

    I got a screw loose!

Never too old to try new things. While others have taken deer on my land, I have never hunted although we have butchered deer, hog, and goat onsite. This October, I am hoping to have my first hunt during muzzleloading season.

    I got a screw loose!

I have a feeling this may end up being my favorite just because. Been through this with guitars. The grips need more detail but this aint a race. Here is a pic of my Pietta and my friend with his new Pietta. Happy to report both operational. Thanks again! Wheelman

    I got a screw loose!

So I opened her back up to do some adjusting and like a dummy I tried to bend the bolt spring instead of the bolt. Then, after realizing my error, I tried to get the bolt spring back to where it was. Luckily, I don't think I bent it much. I removed the bolt and wedged the tip of a very large...

    I got a screw loose!

Sweet success! Looks like a new hammer fixed the problem. I guess I can go back to working on fitting my grip. I tried to get a good shot of the failed cam. Thanks for all the support. Wheelman

    I got a screw loose!

Went back to the barn and found a round machine disk that fit nicely about as thick as the other washers I had. Tested it in both Piettas and I ended up with gaps both at the bottom pins and the cylinder. Didn't measure anything but they were at least as wide as the washer itself so if I have...

    I got a screw loose!

Thanks Mike, I think that I did that as the guns have like 3 shots down one and 12 down the other. Having said that, I am going to try the washer and see for sure. I was able to rotate the barrel pretty easily and "knock it" against the gun to get it right next to the pins while applying...
