Try SC Sutlery out of Emmet Idaho. They have wedge tents for under $300. Many fur trade era paintings show wedge tents.

    Green River knives

What gets me Crazy Crow doesn't come out and say their Kitchin Snake Brand Copies are made in Pakistan when the blades are marked Shefield. They do mention these knives are mid 18 hundreds which is also a little sketchy. They could be a little clearer a state Kitchin Brand started 1865.

    Green River knives

I don't own one, but they have a two-star rating on Amazon. Personally, I would spend ten dollars more for a John Nowill and Sons butcher knife.

    Green River knives

Those Crazy Crow Snake knives are made in Pakistan. Kind of like the Belgium trade guns stamped London.

    JP Henry Trade Rifle

Yes, I have had this gun for 40+ years. It is the J Henry scroll guard trade rifle built by a gunsmith from the former Green River Forge in Springfield Oregon. The gun has been cut down to 31".

Fusil de Chasse , new to me one

Thanks, Rob, now we know, and I feel better knowing my CRS isn't as bad as I thought. These guns were available in the eighties, But I still remember he ran into problems building these guns and I still believe mine was contracted out to get the orders filled. Hey Rob, nice one! I also have one but as time has gone buy, I can't remember who I bought it from so I'm hoping somebody might shed some light on the story. The above post is saying from the early 90's but I'm thinking I bought this one 86-89. What I remember there was a story in Muzzle Blast...

Colonial fowler from modern Belgian flintlock Take 2

Not a rural gunsmith but what it is an imported Belgium musket. It looks good> I would pack some bee's wax around some of the gaps. Did you replace the ramrod pipes ? Does it Spark?

Look up South Union Mills .com they have some 18th century and 19th century folding knives for sale. Find a copy of Firearms, Traps & Tools of the Mountain Men by Carl P. Russell University of New Mexico Press. That book will answer your questions.

    Fall Creek Suttlery

Does anybody here have any experience with Fall Creek Suttlery wedge tents quality? They are more of a Civil War Sutler but they say they have been in business some forty years and make their own tents out of Sunforger treated canvas. For the same dimensions their tents a more reasonably priced...

The store is gone in Carbonado, but you can get a hamburger and beer at the Carbonado Saloon. Local kids come up to the window and knock and buy candy.

    HBC Ft. Nisqually

Back in the early 1980s they were going to shoot the cannon off in the blockhouse, so they cleared everyone out so they thought but I was still up on the third floor. The whole place rattled when the cannon went off!

    ASTORIA by Washington Irving

Hey Bill, the first version of Astoria was published in 1836 the book I have in the picture is a Bison book from 1982. I'm sure the book is still being printed today hopefully! Another good PNW book is Land of Giants the Drive to the Pacific Northwest 1750-1950 by David Lavender also a Bison...
