    #11 cap shortage and mag-spark

I put a mag-spark on my renegade about 2 months ago for the same reasons as you. I actually kind of like using it. The 209s make for fast ignition and the adapter makes for an almost fully closed/weatherproof system.

    Do you gut your deer?

I thought this was going to be a gutless method vs gutting thread. Those guys who won’t do anything with their deer don’t have much in common with me. I do gutless method 90% of the time but if I happen to kill something super close to a road I will gut it. I haven’t taken anything to a...

Hang Fires - Flintlock and Caplock

I always worry about this but have never seen it. I used to have a lot of hangfires when I was learning how to use a ML back in high school.

    Might have a ball stuck...

Shining a light in there would be the easiest. Should take all of 5 seconds.

Not sure if I can make this happen but…..

That’s exactly what I’ve always wondered about them. Seems like it would be awesome if you want to take a shot over 150 but I’d like to be able to use regular sights most of the time.

Not sure if I can make this happen but…..

I’m very interested in this project. I considered doing the same thing to my renegade but didn’t want to buy an expensive sight and have it not work. What kind of front sight are you going with? Do you know where one of these sights could be sourced? All of them I’ve seen fold backward.

    Mounting Skinner peep on Renegade

More updates on using a skinner peep sight on a TC Renegade. The 6-48 thread fits perfectly. I also replaced the front sight with a smaller 1/16” bead for a much more precise sight picture. A front sight height of .410” worked perfectly for me. The rifle is very easy to shoot accurately now...

    Fixed sights point of impact

Filing the rear sight will make it shoot lower. Re-read what your post quoted.

    Fixed sights point of impact

Why? OP, I wish I had an answer for you. Seems like a lot of posts on this forum end up this way. Everyone wants to give advise about things that aren’t the original question. Let us know how the front sight replacement goes, if you do it.

Ideal single trigger pull weight ?

2lbs is the perfect happy medium for me. I don’t really see any safety issues with a light trigger. If it’s well made it shouldn’t go off until you touch it.

    Mounting Skinner peep on Renegade

I wanted to follow up on this. Its a 6-48 on my gun.
