    New Loading Tips for Muzzleloaders

That is a good idea. I have made a rifling/sizing die from a cut-off piece of barrel (re-barreled gun) treaded and fits in my cartridge loading press. Lead bullet is pushed through it with short rod that is put on the press ramrod (similar to using a shell holder). It resizes and engraves proper...

    tick treatment

I have used permethrin for years and has worked. Spray pants till wet and leave overnight to dry. Good for at least 2 weeks of repelling ticks and chiggers even after a wash. I used it when it was being tested before releasing for sale to public at Land Between the Lakes (Tennessee side), an...

Had a friend make a nice wrench for my T/C New Englander barrels. Great fit and functional. He can make more if interested.

    Question on T/C New Englander

Thank you. I thought it could have been a cleaning opening as I’ve seen it on other rifles. I appreciate your clarification.

    Question on T/C New Englander

I have 3 barrels for my New Englander and have noticed all have a plug or pin (not sure of proper name) about 1/4” in diameter on the breach plug opposite of nipple. It is flush with breach so I don’t think it’s removable. What is its function? Thanks

    Relined barrel proble

Got the barrel back from Mr. Hoyt today and the blockage in touch hole is removed and cleared. I’m happy with work and am sure it will shoot well. Mr Hoyt is a gentleman. I do appreciate his work and quick response to this issue.

    Relined barrel proble

Of course sir. It happens to us all. Nothing to worry about. The gentleman will fix it. Will ship the barrel to him tomorrow morning. I just don’t have the proper tool to do it myself getting the breach plug off since my effort with hot middle didn't work! Thank you for your kind words.

    Relined barrel proble

Just got a call from Mr Hoyt (I think it was him). Very nice gentleman indeed. He apologized for neglecting to check things before sending it back to me and told me to heat a pin and push it in the flashhoe to open it. He told me if that didn’t work to send it back to him to take care of it. He...

    Relined barrel proble

I did my research before sending my barrel and I heard nothing bad about the shop so it’s not the end of the world. As a small shop and only phone for communication it’s rather difficult to get answer to phone call. Hopefully someone will return my call. I’ll get it open one way or another. Just...
