Looking for a round ball rifle

Another vote for the TC Hawken. The fit and finish on mine is excellant, and it's a shooter. I use 90gr Pyro RS with a .015 pre-lubed patch.

    Cleaning question

I used to have the exact same routine as you, and experienced the same reddish brown color when swabbing out the bore before another trip to the range. I switched from water to another posters mix of winshield washer solvent and alcohol. I get it clean, dry patch it throughly, bore butter it...

    50 RB? Need some encouragement!

"So I need encouraged. I need to be told that my heart's in the right place even if I'm losin' money on my give-and-loan habits. I need to be encouraged that it's good to get guys started in smokepolin'" Iron sights: your heart is in the right place even if your losin' money on your...

    .50 cal pattern

"If it worked for Danl Boone it'll work for me, the physics haven't changed over the last 300 years." But just think....what if Daniel Boone Had a micrometer??

    .50 cal pattern

Lots of useful replies here. Being a former Master class Hi-Power Service Rifle shooter, I do know some about shooting offhand. I would definatly bench the gun to eliminate any(most) human error. That way you know the sights are correct for your given load. Next, don't shoot too much too fast...

Need your help with a .32 cal.

I shoot 25gr Pyro P under the Hornady .310 ball and a .010 patch. Super accurate groups. But, I shoot a Dixie Tenn Mtn rifle with a 1/66 twist.

"Viruses and worms have the habit of replicate themselves on computers reading your AddressBook and sending itself to all your friends, 80 percent of all e-mail viruses sent to you will be sent by (your friends)!!! " No problem....I don't have any friends!

    Where do you aim................

I hunt with a scope on my inline, so I want it to hit where the crosshairs meet. That's a dead center hold on targets. I sight in at 75 yds...that leaves me about 1" high at 50yds and 1" low at 100yds. 0 to 100, I'm good to go. I also know it drops 6" at 150yds, so I feel safe out to that...

    new from Md

Just found this site and I'm loving it! I'm in Maryland, been BP shooting/hunting for about 10 years now. I don't even consider using a shotgun, even in shotgun season. Looking forward to all the discussions.

    newbie opinion

New to this board, seems like I have lots of reading to do. Just a note on two recent topics I've read. 32 vs 36 by Don... I think the 36 is more versitle, but I have a DGW Tenn. Mtn. Rifle in .32cal. I bought it strictly for squirels and groundhogs, and it's been a faboulous gun for those...
