    Thanks for the info. I believe you are right, I looked up Zouave rifles and the pictures I found match my gun. However on the barrel it says "RANSON ITALIA spa made in Italy" Also it does have a bayonet mount. I can't find any info on Ranson guns. Anybody got a lead?
