I believe he wants to be able to take a shot at the deer - with a 00 buckshot load - as the deer bolt by. Not to be shot at the dogs.

Yeah, I'm trying to shoot the deer that the dogs are running off of my property...I was willing to help you, but not if you're shooting Hounds.
Who is shooting hounds? OP bemoaned about folks running deer with dogs. He was considered buckshot because he had to take running shots at the deer being chased by the dogs.I was willing to help you, but not if you're shooting Hounds.
@Nor'Easter, didn’t see your post about the dogs before I posted.
I wonder if the other mammals have have as much difficulty communicating with each other (ie understanding) as humans appear to have?
