If you order online, you won't know what you're getting until you measure the thickness. Maybe you'll get 0.018", maybe you won't. Blue pillow ticking isn't always blue pillow ticking. You have to inspect the weave and measure the thickness.i can't walk all the way back to fabric - if you cold give me a link i can order some of each for home delivery -thanks for your help
Joanne's 40 drill had been out of stock in stores for two years (three states I have visited) and they won't ship it.The only stuff I've found that I can repeatedly buy and be certain of consistent thickness is the Joanne's #40. For me it measures .018. Some people measure it at .017. Depends on the measuring device and the user.
I've found it to be such good patching that I'll change the ball size rather than change patching.

You do realize that currently manufactured pillow ticking has the blue, red, pink or whatever color printed on it and is no indication of the thickness or thread count, at least according to the fabric mills here in North Carolina. Same run or lot can have different colors on it for aesthetic reasons. The only way to find consistency is to get all of your patch material from the same bolt of material, though you could also try getting material from the same lot or batch, but good luck finding two bolts from the same lot. Difference might not be much, but you have to measure thickness compressed if that thickness is important to you.Blue pillow ticking isn't always blue pillow ticking.
I bought it locally 3 months ago. Others tell of buying it online recently and at better prices than I get locally.Joanne's 40 drill had been out of stock in stores for two years (three states I have visited) and they won't ship it.
