I have checked locally, I have checked online Cabela's, online Sportsman's warehouse, MidwayUSA, Midsouth shooters supply and no one offers them, all they offer are metric. When did the United States go metric? Needless to say, that is a bit disconcerting. I have musket nipples and musket percussion caps but I would like to get at least one extra 1/4-28 thread #11 nipple for this rifle because I found some Winchester Magnum #11 percussion caps and they work GREAT! No misfires at all. Pedersoli offers the nipples and I could have gotten them for what I consider an exhorbitant price but that's the way it goes. But then, the shipping charges are higher than the cost of the nipples! This must be what happens when you deal with socialist countries.

I can't quite figure out what your rant was about as I can get nipples for anything for around $5 + shipping. 1/4x28 is as common as it gets for nipple threads. What exactly is the problem???? BTW, Italy is not a "socialist" country. You must be living in an alternative universe if you are having trouble finding 1/4x28 thread nipples!!!

I've been corrected!

Well ace, if you read the original post you'd know I tried to find some locally. No dice. I checked the Pedersoli web page and I looked at (3) 1/4-28 #11 nipples for $16.45. I figured why not get (6)? Total of $32.90. When I went to check out, the price was slightly over $78.00 with shipping. F them.

If they aren't socialist, then they are mafioso. What exactly is the problem? They aren't available locally, that's the problem. Again, reading skills are very useful. Cabela's online doesn't even list 1/4-28 #11 nipples. Neither does Sportsman's Warehouse. Two local gunshops I frequent don't carry 1/4-28 #11 nipples either. Are you getting my drift yet? MidwayUSA doesn't list them. Neither does Midsouth shooter's supply. I finally found them at The Track of the Wolf, if you had read just a bit further. Do they teach reading skills in your universe? You insult me, I insult right back. Maybe you should get some Eagle's eyes.

As far as I understood it Pedersoli do use metric threads.

Set 3 steel nipples for rifle
Model: 036U470003

$16.45

Set 3 steel nipples # 1/4'' - 28 UNF, for "Pedersoli" rifles.

Reference 036U470003

Right from their webpage.

I thought they would use metric too but the threads for the nipple on my Hawken are 1/4-28 thds., that the threads on the musket nipple I currently have installed. I have more than enough misfires with them. I put the original pedersoli nipple back in the drum after getting some Winchester Magnum #11 percussion caps. No misfires what so ever. The fact that Pedersoli/UPS charges more for shipping than the actual part just rubs me the wrong way. Anyway, I found what I am looking for from Track of the Wolf. Should be here middle of next week. They are just spares should something happen to the original. Looks like I stirred up a hornet's next......but that's their problem, not mine. :thumb:

When some poster starts inferring I am from another universe or some other childish thing like that, I have no use for them but I would never "ignore" them. I love to watch people make fools of themselves.

I have a Pedersoli Pennsylvania.
Everything you read says the Pennsylvania Has 1/4X28.
I measured mine. It is 6mmX1mm.
As far as freight is concerned. I also sell stuff on the internet and many countries Postal Services will only accept packages of a certain size. So if you but a single item or a hundred it is the same price until you get over the base price for shipping.
I have to deal with exorbitant freight buying stuff from USA. Basically I have to pay $50 minimum.
I dont think it is your political system. But maybe it is China is dirt cheap for freight.

I'm happy I found some more or less locally, Track of the Wolf is in Minnesota, not Europe, thank God. The Pedersoli Hawken is a nice rifle but my relationship has been a bit rocky with it. The cost to ship the six nipples caught me off guard. I wish I could talk my son out of the Kentucky rifle I gave him but honestly, I wouldn't even try. Another good shooter. The rifle and the kid. As far as political systems go, it seems politics has ruined everything; sports in general, the olympics, movies, etc. I just want to shoot.

I’ve owned several Pedersoli Hawken rifle’s. Sold a couple right here on this forum.

Yes, they do use a 1/4x28 thread.

Like what had already been mentioned, it’s my opinion that the Hawken rifle is geared and tailored towards the American consumer with that type of rifle.

Respectfully, Cowboy

Of course there's Deer Creek:
Rifle Nipples (deercreekproducts.net)

Cabela's doesn't list them, but they haven't been much of a supplier for muzzleloading parts for a while.

A 1/4-28 for a Thompson Center will fit a Pedersoli nipple seat so Midway USA has nipples.
Thompson Center Replacement Nipple #11 Percussion Cap 1/4 x 28 Thread (midwayusa.com)

Midsouth Shooters' Supply has a selection of 1/4-28 nipples also. The T/C and Lyman brand are on back order.
Lightning Fire System Musket Nipple 1/4x28 Threads (2 Pack) by Traditions (midsouthshooterssupply.com)

Muzzleloader's Shooting Supply has them in steel, AMPCO, and spitfire. Search for 1/4-28
Product Listing (muzzleloaderbuilderssupply.com)

As you have found, Track of the Wolf caries nipples.
