I've a 7 bore double by William Chance & Co. The bores measure .890 and .893. They are in really nice shape, so I do plan on shooting it, as soon as I get the locks repaired. Should be receiving the new replacement hammers from Blackley & Son soon.
Traded a tiny Pedersoli Gendarmerie flintlock pistol for it. I would guess it weighs in the neighborhood of 12-15 lbs.

I wouldn't say that they are shunned.
I'd say the problem here is that the large, dangerous game that we have here in North America may be handled by a 10 gauge, AND the legal limit to waterfowl, using modern or black powder, is 10 gauge.
So larger than 10-gauge is sort of an extravagant toy, if it isn't a historic replica of something that you can use for more than noise?
For example, I will one day, hopefully soon, get a 1" Bess barrel made (8 gauge), and fashion an Amusette..
Because in the group where I reenact, we field so many muskets (25+) plus officers (3), that our Captain became a "Major" AND we already have a group of light infantry with the regulars, so why not portable ultra-light artillery ??
And it's less expensive to buy a 3" mortar, rather than say a 4-Bore rifle or shotgun...

My ten gauge isn't shunned at all, it's my go to turkey gun. Pedersoli double with extra full chokes, puts them down nicely.
I have a 10g Manton double that would be awesome for geese but bismuth is so expensive. When you put the butt on the floor the muzzle is at your chest. The first time I took it out to test fire I thought I'd start with 90 grains of powder and this thing just laughed at 90 grains 
Next time I think I'll have to bump it up a bit. Anyone want to share their favorite load?

I have a 10 gauge Pietta double barrel percussion. It’s a sizable gun, but not overly heavy. It was my first smoothbore, so I loaded it up for waterfowl and down for everything else.
With a 1 ounce square load, It’s taken doves, quail, squirrels, and bushels of rabbits.
1 1/2 ounce square load worked good for pheasants and ducks.
I used a stout load of 96 steel “T” shot for geese.
It’s more of a safe queen these days…been shooting flintlocks for most of the last 30 years.

Outside of one's shooting group, 10 gauge is seldom seen. Try mentioning you own a 10 gauge in a different group of guys and listen to them.
I wish, I could find that 4 bore flintlock I shot at Webb Lake Rendezvous(1980ish).

I would love to just run steel shot through it but it’s an antique so I don’t think it would be good for it, sure it would work but long term I feel it would just scrape the hell out of the bore.(I’m assuming) I do have a T/c 12g that I will run steel through though just not this 10g. I need to take it out again. It’s a beast. My fingers won’t touch my thumb when I hold it around the chamber-end. It’s crazy, that’s why I had to have it hahaha

I have a 10 gauge Pedersoli SxS that I use for duck hunting. It does quite well.
I have a single barrel 10 bore. I love it. Plenty of room for playing with shot/load for a variety of critters.
I'm always getting compliments.
I own the most famous gun here I think. I've had compliments on the sound. The look. Everything. The dog gets an equal amount of compliments.
The beagle and muzzloader.. I was out there last week I had a guy ask me a half hour worth of questions. He was a bird hunter just walking the dog.
I hide at the gun range. I use the primitive range if I have to shoot the pedersoli just because.
