Here are some pics of the shotgun I got a month ago it was a unfinished CVA kit I had to fix the locks and make ramrod pipes sanded and stained the stock finished with 9 coats of Tung oil and browned the barrels ,trigger plate and guard. the locks are crome plated and I was wondering what you guys think of the idea of letting them this way. What do ya think ? The more I look at it the more it kinda appeals to me !

That is the nicest looking CVA shotgun I have ever seen. Nice job. Looks like real nice wood grain. Somehow the pictures look like the locks are color case hardened.

Thanks for the compliment, Pics are a bit dk shoulda went outside to shoot pics

I would have to concur with Dave on that. That is BY FAR the nicest cva I ever remember seeing. what did you stain it with if you don't mind me asking?

Cody

Hi Cody I used a Nut Brown stain from Laurel Mtn Forge 1 coat . I used Tung oil for the top coat x8 or 9 worked into the stock with my hand and used 4/0 steelwool after last coat rubbed real hard with my bare hand to get some heat built up and it started to give it a nice look . Glad you like it I'am pretty pleased with it .

yep i would agree very nice CVA , are you sure the inside of the locks are crome? or did the PO polish ?
