I recently saw an excellent reproduction of a 69 caliber Palmetto Armory musket, owned by a gentleman in Charleston, S.C., who directed me to Loyalist Arms and Repairs in Nova Scotia. I believe I've found you on the Internet. He said his musket was a reproduction of one manufactured in 1852 and used during the American Civil War, and said he purchased it from you in 2011. But I believe the weapon was manufactured in 1842 instead. I'd like to learn more about this weapon.

I’m a fan of loyalist, however they are Indian made repos and have some problems . One is on gins that came or were made rifles are all made smoothbore.
An 1839 gun would likely be made smooth but rifled before the war, there were some smooth bores used during the war

I'm directing my message to anyone in this forum who might be able to offer information on the 69 caliber Palmetto Armory musket I referenced in my message of December 14th. One gentleman has already provided input, which I greatly appreciate. But I would still like to learn more about this repro, and consider anyone in this forum to be more knowledgeable than I am about this subject.
