As near as I can determine, Uberti's reproduction 1848 and 1849 .31-caliber, and their 1862 Pocket Police revolvers are all based upon the same .31-caliber frame. Some 31s have four-inch barrels (or slightly longer??) while retaining a loading lever while "trapper" models dispense with the lever.

Are loading levers interchangeable - that is, are loading levers swappable so long as ram and affixing stud beneath barrel is properly located?

For the defintive answer, send a note to Taylors and ask the Uberti gunsmith, only he would know versus others guessing, or you could call him and ask specific questions.

Seems it would be best to ask the Uberti gunsmith in person, would it not? He is a really nice guy to talk with.
