OK, so what's the "Manhattan Conversion"???

Basically, narrow the hammer nose so it looks more like a Remington hammer and braze a couple of brass plates on either side of the recoil sheild to narrow the opening, like a Remington. The narrower opening prevents the caps from being pulled back into the action.

Or you could just buy a Remington.

Several years ago an outfit named Big Iron Barrel Works did such, converting Remington revolvers into .50 cal. Unfortunately, a lot of folks had some bad business dealings with them and they went out of business, so it is believed. They made some great wad cutter type bullets for cap and ball revolvers and I still have a few of the .36's of their manufacture. I had ordered some .44's but they were never able to deliver on them. I did get my money back but a lot of folks got ripped off on expensive conversion projects.

I got a full box of those in .36 - like the bullets and would like to see them made again. I didn't know if he ripped the design off from someone else or what. Like many others he stole a bit from me

A local gunsmith got a .44 rem in trade and it was such poor shape he converted it to fire .22 rimfire, as an experiment. Wouldn't mind having it today as an oddity.
