Hello all,
Novice mistake question here!
I have a reproduction 2-band 1858 Enfield that I recently acquired. It has been defarbed and I am unaware of who the original maker is. I wanted to remove the barrel from the stock to check the underside for maker markings. While trying to loosen the barrel band, one of the small rings on the opposite side of the band from the screw head came off. I assume I loosened the screw too far. The small metal ring does not appear to be threaded and I need advice on reassembling the band. Are these typically just tapped back into place once the band is retightened? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
