I was in a gun store and they have a two band Springfield in 58 cal(I'm not to up on these things so excuse me if I'm not identifying it better.) And the tag said by Lyman.

Did Lyman ever make this style of rifle?
They are asking $600 which seems way out of line to me.

Thoughts?

Lyman did sell the 2 band Zouave rifle, not sure what other models they may have sold. They did not manufacture them, I believe they were made by Zoli and sold by Lyman.

That makes more sense. I went back by and they have it labeled as "Little Enfield" It is in excellent condition on the outside and looks to have been fired very little. I still think that $600 is way to much. It is old enough that it doesn't have all the warning labels on the barrell.

Thanks

I agree that is way too much. With a little effort you can find them in the $300 to $350 range. I wanted one for a long time and found a nice Zoli for $375 with quite a few extras.

Follow up. I went back to look at it and it is a three band enfield type rifle. It doesn't look like the Zouave's I've seen pictures of. Could have Lyman imported a "Springfield" of some type?
