1860 brass 44 range report

Shot my 44 I bought from forum member rebel and I do like this pistol. Now I can't shoot a pistol to save my hide but I do love shooting. Got to the woods at about 7 am and it started raining,so I kicked back had a cigar and waited it out. Rain quit about 7:30. Loaded up my home cast balls,homemade lube,and homemade caps and shot some rounds. First pic is 30 yards rested,no wad or filler,just 25 grains 3f. 2 holes touching and the rest well like I said I ain't a pistol shooter. Anyway a great day and a beautiful place to shoot.

Don't let anyone fool you, at 30 yards, that is GREAT shooting (internet experts notwithstanding).

Naw it's residue off homemade caps. Kind of a pain to clean.

You can say that again! Very few and I mean a very, very few could shoot that well with a match grade modern pistol. You hear of people that can but how many have you seen shoot that well at 30 yards?

That pic was taken before clean up. The red comes off but man is it harder to clean than powder residue.
