I've done a lot of googling on the subject of full disassembly and totally cleaning my 1861/63 Savage, but I've read some conflicting things as far brushes, oils, and solvents to use or not use. Hoping to get pointed in the right direction with all of that. I'd like to get this cleaned up as much as possible and still retain value. Seems to really be surface rust with some mild pitting. Overall it's in pretty good shape and the action is still very tight. Thanks in advance!
