Lyman Trade Rifle Makeover

I've got myself a lyman .50 that I'd like to completely overhaul. It has a cracked stock, mild rust all over, and dulled/stained brass. Is it possible to clean this up like new? I believe I can buy a new stock, but I'm unfamiliar with refinishing brass. It currently has a blued barrel. I'm not sure if I can sand that all down or methods for bringing this gun back to its former glory.

Dulled stained brass is not a bad thing in a lot of circles. We would need pictures of the gun however.

Heck leave the brass alone it takes years to get perfect like that.

If you really want to clean/polish the brass, I would use a fine Scotch Bright pad and polish in one direction.
You might be able to repair the stock depending on the damage.
