For sale is a 1861 colt signature series rifle. I am thinning out my collection. Rifle started out as a 50 caliber, but has been redone by Bobby Hoyt to .577. Barrel is excellent. Asking $900 plus actual shipping costs.
Thank you

This rifle was a rare version called the .50 game master. The peep sight is what it came with. It is mounted with two screws. I have seen discussions before on the forum about replacing the sights back to military style sight. Seems to be very doable.
Thank you. Jhgray

Is the bluing on the receiver original? A}I'm new to black powder firearms and ones I've seen are not blued. Also how old are these? 1861 or newer?
Thanks

This particular rifle was one of the game master 50 calibers that was a special run. The barrel was done with a matte black finish, which I think looks really nice. The barrel was redone by the previous owner which sent it to Bobby Hoyt, probably the best with black powder barrels. Changed out to .577 to shoot.58 minnie balls or round balls. This is a modern reproduction, made sometime between 1996-2002 ( from what I know). Thank you

The lock (side plate), hammer, barrel bands, and hardware are color case hardened finish. Gives it the blue and gray colorations which look great.

I was able to find the padded accessory butt pad that came with the rifle. Nice extra to make it a bit easier on the shoulder. IMG_2725.jpegIMG_2724.jpegIMG_2723.jpeg
