Hey Y'all,

Well, after waiting anxiously for two weeks, my Uberti pistol arrived today. What a beauty. I'm really impressed with the overall apperance especially the lack of stampings I've seen on most repo's.

However there's a problem and I need your advice;
The Loading lever keeper that dovetails under the barrel is loose to the point of falling out when you tip the barrel sideways. I noticed the looseness when I first applied pressure to press the lever back into the slot after letting it down the first time. In fact I'm able to lift the keeper up (raise it) significantly from the cylinder end. It's real sloppy. The forward end of the keeper is properly slanted to slide into the dovetail properly, but the back end (towards the cylinder) is squared up and down so that it is loose in the joint. Thus making me feel that the usual procdure of dimpling the barrel with a center punch might not fix it.

I'm assuming this is not normal. And unless you explain that it is, I'm shipping her back tomorrow.

What do you think?

I would call the place that sold it to you and voice my displeasure with the gun.

There is no way a company should sell a defective gun, especially a Uberti.

Bottom line: Send it back and demand a replacement.

It's a new revolver that should not have left the factory in that condition, send it back. You could ask for a rebate on the price and fix it yourself. Try some loc-tite stud mount or jb on it.

Yeah, I contacted DGW this morning and they appologized and insured me that a replacement would arrive upon receiving the old one. I wonder whatever happened to QC? Both on the factory end as well as the sellers end? I suppose DGW could be excused possibly as unless you were to check the proper functioning of each and every function of the pistol, aside of giving it the quick eyeball, this particular fault might be overlooked. Still, I caught it right away, they should have too.

Now the wait begins. Again...
