I have an 1861 Navy Pietta with a barrel the same length as the 1860 army which is 8 inches. Have been looking for a 7-1/2 inch to no avail. Did Pietta ever make one with the 7-1/2" ? Maybe I'm looking for a needle in a haystack.

I have not been able to find a 7-1/2" as of yet.
Muzzle-loaders.com has one but it doesn't have the length stated.
I was just trying to find one that was historically correct.

For 7.5" you'll need an Uberti. Keep an eye on MidwayUSA. They have them on sale every now and then. Also watch the for sale area on this forum as they show up there also. Good Luck.

I was hoping for a Pietta but they don't make them. I have the Pietta 61, Guess I'll just have to settle with that.

You could have it cut to the length you want. It involves moving the loading lever latch and front sight plus trimming the loading lever and reinstalling the latch. Have done a good handful lately.
